町という「空間」に内包されるモノコトは、自然や社会の影響、その場に住む人々の感性によって変化し、暮らしや風景も同時に変化していきます。しかし、それらの多くは、わかりやすく目の前に現れるとは限りません。彫刻家の家では、作品や家から放たれる空気感を通して、日常に新たな視点を発見し、あるいは忘れられた感覚を呼び起こす機会を提供するプロジェクト「まちにある家という彫刻」の5回目となる「糸」を開催します。
私たちにとって「糸」は、衣服や布地を生み出し、外界から守るだけでなく、装飾や表現するための素材として永く身近で使われてきました。また、家族や人間関係の絆を連想させるなど、目に見えないモノとして、人と人、生活と文化を紡ぎ、私たちの精神と身体を支えてきました。本展では、「糸」の実用性ではなく、表現者が空間に描く感覚的な線として「糸」に触れてきた 2名のアーティストの世界感に目を向けます。
天井から垂れ下がる柔らかな2人の作品は、空間と同化するように、静謐な空気感を漂わせています。小野栞の手編みによって制作されステンレス糸の布は、ある女性がインスピレーションの源となっています。吊るされた布は、淡い光の煌めきによりある女性の気配を漂わせ、存在と不在を行き来するような感覚を演出します。一方、森田志宝の一本の絹糸に漆を施した漆糸は、天井から糸を伝って水滴が垂れているようにも見えます。糸に付着した漆の粒は、不規則な連なりから仄かな光を放ち、日常とは異なる時間感覚を呼び起こします。
繊細で静けさを湛えるそれぞれの作品から漂う空気感は、混沌とした日常に潜む現実や葛藤と向き合う中で生まれたのかもしれません。それは美しくも儚く、まるで残り香のように現実世界にひっそりと姿を現しているように感じられます。日常から生まれたそれぞれの線、そこから放たれる空気感としなやかな連続性から、目に見えないモノやコトを感じてください。
The "things" and "phenomena" encapsulated within the "space" of a town are shaped by the influences of nature, society, and the sensibilities of the people who live there. At the same time, ways of life and landscapes transform along with them. However, many of these elements are not always immediately apparent or visible. At the sculptor's house, we present the fifth edition of the project, "The House as Sculpture in the Town," titled "Thread," as an opportunity to discover new perspectives in daily life or awaken forgotten sensations through the atmosphere emanating from the works and the house itself.
For us, "Thread" is not only a material used to create clothing and fabric or to protect us from the outside world but also one that has long been used for decoration and expression. Furthermore, it evokes connections such as familial and interpersonal bonds, functioning as an invisible force that weaves people, lives, and cultures together, supporting both our minds and bodies. In this exhibition, we shift our focus from the practicality of thread to the sensory lines drawn in space by two artists who explore its essence, inviting you to delve into their worlds.
The works of these two artists, softly suspended from the ceiling, exude a serene atmosphere that blends seamlessly with the space. Shiori Ono’s hand-knitted fabric made of stainless steel thread draws inspiration from a particular woman. The suspended fabric shimmers faintly in soft light, evoking the presence of this woman and creating a sense of oscillation between existence and absence. Meanwhile, Shiho Morita’s lacquered silk thread appears as though water droplets are dripping down the thread from the ceiling. The lacquered particles, irregularly adhered to the thread, emit a subtle glow, awakening a sense of time distinct from the everyday.
The delicate and quiet atmosphere emanating from each work may have emerged from confronting the realities and struggles that lie hidden within the chaos of daily life. These works are both beautiful and ephemeral, appearing in the real world like lingering scents, quietly making their presence known. From the lines born out of daily life and the soft, continuous air they exude, we invite you to sense the unseen "things" and "phenomena" that surround us.
小野栞 | Shiori ONO
1995年東京生まれ。2022年東京造形大学大学院造形研究科造形専攻博士後期課程美術研究領域修了。修士課程までテキスタイルデザインを学修し、博士後期課程から空間表現を研究。不在の人物の淡い気配をテーマに、1本の糸から編みや織りなどのテキスタイル技法を用いて作品を制作している。国内外で作品展示の他に、テキスタイルや衣服のデザイン・制作を行う。第57回日本クラフト展経済産業大臣賞・日本クラフト大賞受賞。主な展覧会、2023年「Material, or 」21_21 DESIGN SIGHT、2019年「東京、青山、テキスタイルの地図。 東京造形大学」 Spiral Garden、他

1990年生まれ。京都府出身。2016年富山大学大学院修士課程芸術文化学専攻修了。蜘蛛の巣に滴が付く現象に惹かれ、絹糸に漆を塗った「漆糸」を始める。漆糸を空間に垂らしたり、何本も束ねて量感を見せることで表現を試みる。近年はウルシノキの生態に関心を持って制作した「Lacquer tree」や、一年間の漆滴の成長変化を記録する「滴を育てる」など素材の可能性を探ってきた。2023年京都府新鋭選抜展優秀賞。主な展覧会、2024年「黒部市美術館開館30周年 たねをとばす」黒部市美術館、「漆表現の現在2024-漆へのまなざし」金沢21世紀美術館市民ギャラリーA、他
